Here is a review written by one of our students:
I am a single guy. Before I started lessons here, my dance moves were unimpressive, and posture terrible. I was mostly afraid to dance in public and women did not want to dance with me. I even sat out the chicken dance at wedding receptions. Not knowing anything about ballroom dancing, I started as a beginner. I had no idea what I was getting into.
I was a slow learner but the staff and students encouraged me to stay with it. I met someone there who does motivational speeches. He showed me a phrase in one of his publications: Dont give up. It is always too soon to quit. I stuck with it and 8 months later, made it to bronze one level. I tried out my new dancing wings at a public salsa nightclub and ended up dancing that night almost nonstop.
I attended the special awards dinner dance at the Castaway in Burbank where students were awarded for moving from beginners level to bronze, and where they awarded others who moved up to higher levels within bronze and silver.
The Dance Center of Pasadena is a very friendly place. They will remember your name and surprise you with a free lesson on your birthday.
If you search the net, you will find that Pasadena is a megapolis of dance studios and dance organizations of every type. What makes the Dance Center of Pasadena shine brightly among others is the teaching staff. The staff are amazingly talented. Here, it is not just one teaching couple running a studio. There are many diverse teachers here, all of them career professionals of dance. There are 3 teachers that work with beginners, a teacher who is a salsa specialist, a Latin specialist, a very talented couple from Russia teaching competitive international styles, several advanced ballroom teachers, an argentine tango specialist, and several teachers with creative choreography experience to work with dance teams for shows and events. Some of the teachers were traveling worldwide and competing professionally before joining the staff. There are traveling teaching coaches from other franchise locations visiting the studio to provide an added learning experience.
My advice to new students of dance is to keep dancing and have the adventure of your life. Review published 10/22/2009
